Workshare Professional/Compare with NetDocuments integration

If you are using NetDocuments with Workshare Professional or Compare, you may experience the following performance issues:
- Unable to display 'Recently Opened' documents from NetDocuments (CR00619110)
- Unable to attach/relate saved Redlines to documents saved within NetDocuments (CR00469704)
- Experiencing a slow response when accessing NetDocuments from the Workshare Compare Documents window (CR00558187)
- Unable to select a 'Profile Attribute' when saving a Redline to NetDocuments (CR00385592)
- Receiving an error: Your previous login attempt failed in NetDocuments (CR00402480)
All these issues are resolved in Workshare 9.5. If you want to upgrade to Workshare 9.5, you can get it from the Workshare Download Center.
Users who are using Professional 8 or Compare 8 (build 100.1182) can apply an update that will fix these issues. Contact Workshare Customer Support for the update (quoting the CR number relevant to your issue).
If you are using earlier versions of Workshare Professional/Compare, you will need to upgrade. More about the changes…In the update, Workshare has implemented the new NetDocuments SDK, which provides:
- The benefit of using the same open and save dialogs that NetDocuments will use in their integration into Microsoft Office applications (ndOffice). This allows users to easily locate recently edited, opened or added files as well browse through the different workspaces and matters. Users can also search for documents they want to compare:
- The option to attach/relate to the original or modified or save as a new document when saving a comparison. If you select to save as a new document you will see the NetDocuments Save As dialog. If you select to attach/relate, the comparison will be saved as an attachment in NetDocuments in the default file format set in the WCM. You can only save one attachment per document by design in NetDocuments, so if you attempt to attach/relate to a document that already has an attachment, it will be overwritten with the new redline.
- The ability to change the profile attributes when you save as a new document.
- The ability to use the NetDocuments EU located server. Previously Workshare could only connect to the US server so if you stored data in the EU, you would have been unable to take advantage of the Workshare integration. You can now change the server location in the Workshare WCM.
