The issue arises when you install Professional/Compare/Protect with the File Share & Sync module and you have one of the new regions selected to store your Workshare data.

How do I know which storage location is used?

Storage locations are selected on the Admin Console by an Admin on the Workshare account.

The default Workshare storage location is in Dublin, Ireland (EMEA – Ireland). The admin can change the default location to another secure Workshare-approved geographical location. This is done from the Data Management tab of the Admin Console and is described here: http://workshare.force.com/knowledgebase/articles/Text_Article/Change-Workshare-file-storage-location/

The admin can also assign individual users to a particular geographical storage location so that any files or file versions uploaded to that user’s folders, groups and deals will be stored in the specific location. This is done from the User Management tab of the Admin Console and is described here: http://workshare.force.com/knowledgebase/articles/Text_Article/Set-different-file-storage-locations-for-your-users

When the storage location is changed, only files added to new folders, groups and deals will go there. Existing data is not migrated across to the new location and files uploaded to existing folders, groups and deals will still be added to the previous location.
